Have you seen or shared a Facebook post about a deadly spider that's on the loose in the U.S.?

I'm sorry to say but that post is a hoax.

Does this look familiar?

Yep. The whole thing is made up.

In fact the spider that is used in the photo is that of a woodlouse spider that isn't new to the U.S. and it also isn't harmful to humans. (WTVO)

The post "has nearly 1,000,000 shares, 10,000 comments and 5,200 likes." It claimed that this spider "has killed several people across a few states."

Which isn't true either.

Snopes investigated the story and found it to be false. They also "found that the original author of the post, Gary Neaderhiser, has made other fake, scare-mongering posts in the past."

My boyfriend showed me this story last night and I said I bet that's not true and come to find out I was right.

That's why it's always important to check things out first when you're wondering if they're true or not.
