Every fair and festival within a short drive from Rockford has been canceled in 2020, but there is at least one chance to bite into your favorite fair food.

If you're craving a deep-fried anything. You're not alone, I'm right there with you. Actually, I'd settle for an elephant ear, some sweet corn, a corn dog, a snow cone, anything from a fair or carnival sounds really good right about now. Luckily, a short drive might satisfy your craving. Byron Firefighter's Association is hosting a "Cure For The Fair Food Blues!" event in Byron this weekend. The event will follow all pandemic-related guidelines, so safety should not be a concern.

"Cure For The Fair Food Blues!" will happen Saturday and Sunday, noon until 6 p.m., at the corner of Blackhawk and Washington, near Byron Fire Protection District. Some of the aforementioned fair foods will be available thanks to Skinner Amusements but do not expect rides, this appears to be solely food-related. Regardless, grab your masks, load the family into the car, and take a quick and easy drive down Route 2.

You can see some of what Skinner Amusements here. Find info on the Byron event here.
