As the NHL continues to be on hiatus (along with every other sport in the North America) Chicago Blackhawks fans were left brokenhearted after the team announced plans it bodycheck their fan convention right out from under its feet. Here's another blow to hockey fans, specifically fans of the Chicago Blackhawks.

In a very brief statement, the team left this note for fans planning on attending their convention in Chicago beginning July 24th.

As the National Hockey League continues to evaluate the future of the 2019-20 season with guidance from public health officials, the Chicago Blackhawks have decided to cancel the 2020 Blackhawks Convention (July 24-26 at the Hilton Chicago).

Full refunds for hotel room deposits and/or Convention passes will be processed automatically by the fan's point of purchase (Hilton Chicago, Ticketmaster or Chicago Blackhawks Ticketing). Please visit Blackhawks.com/Convention for additional information and frequently asked questions.

Disappointing indeed but perfectly understandable. Let's hope when the new normal arrives it'll allow events like these to take place again. Also, does it being the lucky 13th year of the convention have anything to do with this bad luck?

Hmm...
