If you were a kid from the 80's then you grew up on celebrating birthdays at Chuck E. Cheese.

The iconic mouse and pizza place is making some big changes in Rockford and across the country.

WGN reports that company has decided to do away with their animatronic band that would play while you dined.

"CEC Chief Executive Tom Leverton said, "The kids stopped looking at the animatronics years and years ago, and they would wait for the live Chuck E. to come out."

The stage that was once used for those creepy, yes I always thought they were creepy, robotic animals will now become a dance floor that the costumed Chuck E Cheese will come out on and dance with the kids.

It's honestly kind of funny. I mean I never liked those things when I was a kid. They were creepy, especially when after the show was done they'd keep moving and theirs would still blink. Ugh! That's the stuff nightmares are made of.

But, kids today will never know the nostalgia of those creatures spinning and strumming their instruments.

In a way it's kind of a bittersweet goodbye to them.

Do you think this will the change will make Chuck E. Cheese not as special now?

Hmmm... something to think about.
