There's no ifs, ands or buts about it, it's going to be dang hot in Rockford this weekend. Along with being completely uncomfortable and sometimes life-threatening, the extreme heat could cause some major problems on the already troubled Stateline streets.

The Illinois Department of Transportation is warning drivers to be on the lookout for buckling pavement throughout the state, and here's what you should do if you come across a bad patch of it:

If there ever was a good time to be a hermit inside your home, this weekend may just be it.

Stay cool, my friends and please promise me that you will take advantage of one of the several cooling areas being set up in the Stateline if you do not have air conditioning. DO NOT just try to tough it out. Help is available, so please use it.
