With Valentine's Day right around the corner, and Rockford in the middle of a deep freeze, folks will be looking to get out and maybe hit up a restaurant for dinner as soon as we thaw out, of course.

So when I saw this on What's Happening in the 815 on Facebook, "What's the best Rockford restaurant for a night out?" I immediately stopped to see which places are best suited.

I wasn't overly surprised, since I saw a lot of the usual suspects. There's nothing wrong with that because these places have been serving up good meals for quite some time.

Obviously, there are a few that are missing from that list, including GreenFire and Shogun, both of which I would consider before a few others.
