Belvidere Is Getting a New Selfie Spot And It’ll Be Sweet

Something big is coming to Belvidere Park, and the process has already started at Dari Ripple. Yes, it'll be pretty sweet.

As massive wooden ice cream cone is being carved at the time of this writing and will continue through Memorial Day weekend. It may not appear 100% the same as the photoshopped image below but it gives you a visual taste of what is to come.

The sculpture isn't just some random guy, either. It's world-renowned sculptor John Critchfield, whose most famous works are a group of sculptures at Belvidere Park (which are currently being refurbished) and fellow artist Bob Coleman.

The Belvidere Cone will represent "the carefree joys of summertime in downtown Belvidere." Don't forget to use the hashtag #MeetMeByTheCone when you stop by to snap a pic.
