Everyday Q98.5 is on the lookout for exceptional men, women, and children in the northern Illinois/southern Wisconsin area. Yes, you read that correctly, even children. Hero's have no certain look or age requirement just that he or she has done something selfless for the sake of others and not themself. This week's nomination is a prime example.

Marina L. from Belvidere nominated her grandmother, Tammy Voiles.

My grandmother is Tammy Voiles. She is one of the hardest working nurse I know. She sacrifices her time with family and spends most of her time caring for her patients. She saves lives for a living and works crazy hours. I feel like my grandmother isn’t appreciated enough for what she has been doing for the past 30+ years. I nominate her because she's an amazing person and deserves to be appreciated. Please nominate her!

It takes a strong person to be a nurse, it takes an even stronger person to be a mother, do I need to even mention what it takes to be a grandmother? Based on this nomination, it is safe to say Tammy is a hardworking, loving woman. We at Q98.5 are thankful for her service in the medical field, and her maternal skills too. Because she's this week's Hometown Hero, she will receive a $100 Amazon gift card courtesy of Gustafson's Furniture and Mattress.
