Be a ‘Superhero’ For Rockford Families In Need This Christmas
I absolutely LOVE the Christmas season.
I love the joy and excitement it brings to the eyes of my kids. I love the special time spent with family and friends. I love the way my home looks and heart feels, and I especially love the spirit of giving and kindness that takes over everyone's lives.
I do not love knowing that so many families in the Rockford area struggle even harder during the holiday season. So many parents try so hard to provide a Christmas for their children, but they just can't make ends meet. My heart bleeds for these parents over the guilt they must feel for disappointing their kids. It's not their fault, and they could really use our help.
For the second year in a row, Rockford's Fatherhood Encouragement Project has teamed up with the Rockford Police Department for "Christmas With Superheroes" on Wednesday, December 18, 2019.
This year the Fatherhood Encouragement Project is "adopting" 545 kids from the Black Hawk Courts and Orton Keyes housing developments in Rockford, and they really need our help with toy and money donations to get the job done.
Please take a moment to donate what you can. It's amazing what a difference a small act of kindness and giving can do when it comes from the heart.
