Wisconsin Airshow This Weekend With Warbirds, Fast Cars and Family Fun
A major aviation event is preparing to bring the roar of military jets, vintage aircraft, fast cars, and family entertainment to the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport in Janesville this weekend.
A Massive Weekend Takes Flight
The Pistons and Props Airshow continues Saturday (8/29) and Sunday (8/30) with events running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The airshow itself begins at 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, following a 12:45 p.m. jet truck preshow.
Organizers are warning spectators to be prepared for loud noises and bring ear protection if necessary.
Other attractions include a MiG-17F, historic warbirds, skydivers, the Homewrecker jet truck, and airplane rides available in the morning before and in the afternoon following the airshow portion of Pistons and Props.
More Than an Airshow
This is the first Pistons and Props in 14 years that will feature an airshow, but this event has so much more.
Saturday's schedule includes a major car show, giving visitors a chance to see everything from classic and exotic vehicles alongside the aircraft displays.
Famalies can also visit the CCI Kids Educational Zone, featuring bounce houses, hands-on activities, virtual experiences and Extreme Flight STEAM activities. Airplane rides, driving experiences, food, shopping, and live entertainment are also available throughout the day.
Sunday shifts the spotlight toward massive machinery with Mighty Machine Day, featuring equipment from CCI and the Blue Ox Monster Truck.
Proceeds Stay Close to Home
Propel Forward is the non-profit organization that puts on the Pistons and Props event, with proceeds benefitting the local community.
Some funds will support children's educational programming, and other proceeds will help to establish an emergency fund for local veterans in Rock County.
