Today, Sunday Sept 14, 2014 marks the 200th Anniversary of the Star-Spangled Banner. When you hear it sung today at football games or NASCAR events, think of our rich history and be proud to be an American. Do you know the words? It all started 200 years ago. The American flag was raised over Fort McHenry in Baltimore, Maryland, on September 14, 1814 which inspired Francis Scott Key to scribe 'The Defense of Fort M'Henry' which became the lyrics of our national anthem. NASA commemorates and helps us remember.

God Bless America and the next time we are at an occasion where the Star-Spangled Banner is played, sing the words loud and proud.
