Anderson Japanese Gardens is seeking the public's help after receiving severe damage from the recent storms passing through the stateline.

WREX shares that after the heavy rainfall and flooding in the last two weeks, Anderson Japanese Gardens have taken a beating.

The damages include: "washed-out pathways, large deposits of sand, stone and debris throughout the garden, shorted-out electrical systems, the loss of a 160-year-old oak tree and two electric guest transportation carts under 3-feet of water."

Repair work is underway, while the gardens stay open to the public however it's costly for the non for profit landmark.

Repairs are estimated to be over $16,000 and they need our help to cover the restorations.
