Anderson Japanese Gardens Open Friday For The 2019 Season

Spring is officially here! I'm declaring Winter is over and Summer is on the horizon. The signs are all there, including the Japanese Gardens opening for 2019. Rockford's famous gardens open this Friday April, 26.

Anderson Japanese Gardens is an authentic Japanese garden that attracts hundreds of thousands of people annually. It's a community staple and has a ton of events already planned for Spring and Summer 2019.

WIFR details -

• Five craftsmen from Japan will be working over the Memorial Day weekend of repair Tatami Mats in the Guest House and Tea House. This is an increasingly rare art form and will be accessible for Garden visitors to watch from May 23 – 27.
• A Celebration of Children’s Day is Saturday, May 4.
• Uncorked in the Garden is Friday, May 17.
• The Tuesday Evening in the Gardens summertime music series begins on Tuesday, May 28.
• Back by popular demand, Groovin’ in the Gardens children’s concert series returns after being discontinued last season.
• The Japanese Summer Festival is returning as a two day celebration of traditional cultural arts on Saturday & Sunday, July 27 & 28.
