My older daughter Ella turned 5 yesterday and chose to spend her day at one of her favorite places in Rockford, the Discovery Center Museum. She chose to spend her special day there last year as well, but one major thing was different this time...We didn't have to pay any admission fees for an afternoon full of fun!

Turns out October 25 was one of Discovery Center's donation days, and according to the sign, it was the last of many during the month of October.

Seriously? As a Mom, how did I not already know the Discovery Center did this?!?

Don't get me wrong, I always feel like I get my money's worth when paying full admission at the Discovery Center, I just think it's awesome that this is a possibility for families on a budget.

Of course, I needed to find out when the next Discovery Center Donation Days would be, and here comes the catch...I CANNOT FIND THE INFO ANYWHERE.

It all makes sense to me now, and I must admit, it is a very clever move by the Discovery Center folks. If you don't highly publicize your free admission days, you can keep the crowd manageable. The museum was busy yesterday, but not off-the-wall crazy, which we totally appreciated. It appears that the only way you'll know when the next donation day is coming up is by actually going to the Discovery Center, and that's what makes it brilliant.

Well played, Discovery Center. Can you now pretty please tell me the donation days for the rest of 2018? It would be greatly appreciated...xoxo.
