Bad news Hawks fans. The Chicago tribune is reporting that Chicago Blackhawks injured captain Jonathan Toews will be on the sidelines the rest of the regular season. He will join Patrick Kane who is also out on injury. The good news is that both players are expected to return for the playoffs. The announcement came this afternoon (Wednesday) from Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said Wednesday.

Jonathon Toews was not on the ice during the Blackhawk's practice today. On Sunday he was forced to leave Sunday’s 4-1 loss in Pittsburgh with an arm injury when he was checked hard into the boards.

Coach Quenneville said after Sunday's game that he didn’t think the injury was serious and expected Toews’ status to be day-to-day. Today the coach indicated Toews was day-to-day but that he wouldn’t return until the playoffs.

Let's hope and pray the Hawks heal fast so that we can get pumped up for the playoffs. After the winter weather we had, we need a lot of spring Hawks excitement.
