A movie that was primarily shot at Rockford's Midway Village will be released nationally sometime in 2022.

We learned about the filming about a month ago when a friend of one of my co-workers, Shannon Zimmerman, ran across it and took some pictures. Now we have a little more information about it and an entire IMDB page.

The movie is called Come Out Fighting. A story of a soldier that does down behind enemy lines and the team that helped save him.  This is from the IMDB page:

Leading the US Patrol is 2nd Lt. Robert Hayes along with his right hand men: Sergeant AJ "Red McCarron and Private Michael "Salty" Buttons, an all African American squadron serving the famed 761st Tank Battalion known as "The Black Panthers." The soldiers are faced with racial tensions and must find a way to put their differences aside and band together to win the war.

Midway Village is known for their battlefield re-enactments and that was one of the reasons it was the site for 85% of where the film was shot.

RegisterStar - Midway Village Executive Director Patrick O'Keefe said writer and director Steven Luke chose the site because the sprawling property is ready made for a war picture. Midway has a battlefield with weeds, trenches and foxholes it uses for re-enactments like the annual World War II Days... Some of the extras were from our World War II Days and some were from the region.

The movie stars Kellan Lutz, who I'm not familiar with because his big thing was the Twilight movies, and Michael Jai White, who I am also not familiar with because I'm just not. I am familiar with the third-billed actor, Tyrese Gibson who started out as an R+B singer before getting the acting bug and starring in the Fast and Furious franchise.

While I'm not much of a war movie guy, I might have to check this one out. During every battle scene I'll just be thinking to myself, There's a Chick-Fil-A less than a mile from where that guy just got blown up. I think it'll be fun.
