This point of the summer is prime kitten season, and Winnebago County Animal Services is seeing an influx of cats and kittens in need of forever homes. The shelter is bursting at the seams and desperately needs to find adopters for not just cats, but dogs too.

According to a press release from Winnebago County Animal Services;

 Winnebago County Animal Services (WCAS) is full of cats and dogs and asking the public to help by adopting. Starting Wednesday, July 17, 2019 through Saturday, July 20, 2019, WCAS is offering a select number of adult dogs for a $50 each and adult cats for $10 each.

If you've been considering bringing a new pet into your life lately, please adopt one this week at Winnebago County Animal Services.

Qualifications for adopters are:

  • Must be at least 18 years old or older
  • Must show a state-issued photo ID
  • All cats and dogs in the household must be current with a rabies vaccination
    and county pet license
  • Little or no animal complaints on record
  • Animal Services encourages adopters to get approval from their landlord
    before considering adoption
