Illinois Pet Parents: Avoid Buying These Gifts For Your Dog This Christmas
If buying your dog a Christmas present is still on your to-do list this holiday season, here are some popular gift ideas that Illinois pet parents should avoid because they can be harmful for your dog.
The Worst Dog Gift Ever
It seems like every store you go into in the Rockford area right now has a display of cute red and green rawhide bones for sale, but take it from me, you don't want to add one to your cart.
To be fair, dogs love rawhides, but the side effects of chewing and digesting one are something I refuse to deal with ever again.
First off, there's the horrible dog farts they cause.
Secondly, they turn into a gooey nasty mess.
Thirdly, I despise cleaning up dog vomit and had a horrible experience one Christmas night after Santa brought some rawhides.
Rawhides aside, I love spoiling my dogs with gifts each Christmas, but I want them to be safe, fun, and not cause horrible gas. Here are five presents you should definitely not buy your pup this Christmas according to K-9 Connect:

Best Christmas Gift Ideas For Dogs
If rawhide bones and cheap sweaters are on the "don't buy" list, what can we get our furry best friends this Christmas?
Here are three worthy ideas:
1. Cozy Beds and Blankets - If my dogs see a blanket laying on the couch or floor unused, they will automatically claim it for themselves.
2. Interactive Toys - Last year we bought our dogs Kongs that we can hide a treat inside, and it keeps them entertained for hours every time we give it to them.
3. Subscription Boxes - What dog wouldn't like new toys and treats delivered every month? Check out this link for some of the best monthly subscription boxes according to pet experts.
