Walmart Asking All Customers To Wear Face Masks While Shopping
If there's anything more anxiety-inducing than the prospect of seeing everyone in face masks, let me know.
I'm sure that's just me, but seeing the everyday public in face masks especially when shopping at a place like Walmart, makes me nervous.
In a nutshell, the report says the masks get hot, you know from all the breathing, creating moisture, fogging up glasses. That causes the wearer to repeatedly readjust them with possibly infected hands, which in turn is touching their face, which in turn is apparently the way coronavirus spreads the fastest.
I've seen it happening in person at stores in the Rockford area, and it freaks me out a little.
That being said, when the government is asking for these masks and stores are encouraging shoppers to wear them, I trust those in the know to give the best guidance.
The folks who don't know how to social distance, or how to obey the stay at home order are the ones that make me nervous when they don the face mask.
Now, Walmart is requiring every employee to wear them and suggesting every customer does the same.
On Monday, we will begin requiring associates to wear masks or other face coverings at work. This includes our stores, clubs, DCs, FCs and corporate offices. We’ll be encouraging customers and members to wear face coverings when they shop with us.
Makes sense in these regards. If someone working at Walmart has COVID-19, hasn't been tested and is asymptomatic, it's a great idea.
The most important thing though is to remember how to put on and take off the mask, including not touching the front while wearing. The World Health Organization laid out a step by step procedure every face mask wearer should check out.
