A New Year's Eve fire at an Illinois store has put 21-year-old Adilyn Monette behind bars.

Police Say Baby Cribs Were Set On Fire Inside Woodstock Walmart

Monette is accused of setting multiple baby cribs on fire at Walmart located on Lake Avenue in Woodstock. Police say Monette used camping fuel and matches, pouring the gas on the cribs and then setting them ablaze right before leaving the store.

Store Was Full Of Shoppers When Fire Was Started

The store was full of customers when the fires were set, and surveillance video allegedly shows Monette grabbing multiple cans of fuel before starting the fire.  The Woodstock Walmart had an automatic sprinkler system kick on to knock out the flames. Thankfully, there were no reports of injury from customers or employees.

Damage From Illinois Walmart Fire Estimated At Over Five Million Dollars

There is reportedly more than $5M in destruction, including merchandise loss and damage to the building.

Prosecutors revealed Monette has a pending arson case in Colorado. Monette was charged in Illinois with aggravated arson and was denied pretrial release.

No Motive Released As Suspect Awaits Next Court Date

At this time, there has been no explanation or motive for the arson. This is not exactly the way you'd want to spend the first week of a new year, but Monette is sitting in prison awaiting her return to court on Wednesday, January 7.
