Universal Studios Bringing New Year-Round Haunted House to Chicago
If you wish every month was October so you could go to haunted houses all year long, wait until you see what Universal Studios plans to open in Chicago soon.
Are You a Horror Fan?
Here's one truth about me: I'm a huge wimp when it comes to scary stuff, specifically haunted houses or movies full of jump scares and demented creatures killing things. I can't handle it, but I know many people who love it, so this one is for them.
'Universal Horror Unleashed' Is Coming to Chicago
The Chicago area is no stranger to year-round haunting fun thanks to attractions like 13th Floor Haunted House, but the city has never seen something as magnificently frightful as what Universal Destinations and Experiences plans to open soon.
According to Fox 32 Chicago:
The flagship location for Universal Horror Unleashed will open in Las Vegas this August, and promises the chance to "step inside the living nightmares inspired by Universal’s legacy of cinematic and live-entertainment horrors" like 'Universal Monsters', 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre', and 'The Exorcist: Believer'.
In addition to four terrifyingly unique haunted house experiences, Universal Horror Unleashed will also feature mazes, unique food and drink options at themed bars, shopping, and more.
Here's a preview of the Las Vegas location, and I am assuming the Chicago location will be the same kind of scary:
Universal Horror Unleashed Chicago will take over the former Tribune Distribution Center at 700 W. Chicago Avenue, and is hoping to open sometime in 2027.
