Tyson Foods Handing Out $60 Million in Employee ‘Thank You’ Bonus

These bonus checks will be given to 116,000 frontline workers and truck drivers in the U.S. helping keep America fed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are all going through incredibly difficult times and working for an essential business involves putting you and your family at risk. The courage it takes to work amongst the public is something you can't put a price tag on, but Tyson Foods is going to try. I sure hope companies that are able, do something similar.

Tyson Foods will be giving out $60 million in 'Thank You' bonus checks to 116,000 employees who work the frontline and those who drive the trucks.

The company has made several other moves to protect their employees and the public they all serve:

Restricting visitor access to its facilities and relaxed its attendance policy to reinforce the importance of staying home when sick or to meet childcare needs.
Checking the temperature of team members before they enter company facilities.
Offering protective face coverings for production workers who request them and is working with the CDC on additional guidance on the use of personal protective equipment.
Waiving the five consecutive day waiting period for short term disability benefits so workers can receive pay if sick with the flu or COVID-19 and the co-pay for doctor visits if testing for the virus.

These moves come after the company announced it would also be committing $13 million toward providing resources to local communities where it operates amid the pandemic.
