Most haunted houses are a no-go in 2020.

We get it, caution is necessary in order to pull off something like a haunted house this year so it makes sense that many of them are holding until 2021.

That means the few that are open, 34 of them in Illinois according to Haunted Illinois, will probably be very busy this season.

Of the 34 there are a few in the area opening this Friday, Hopper's Haunted House and Karnival of Karnage.

Looks like there are some rules in place to make sure it's a safe experience for everyone who visits Hopper's Haunted House in 2020.

No dropoffs
Visitors will pay while in their vehicle and must inside until escorted into the haunt
Masks required

While we're sure they aren't too far off from Hopper's, the directions surrounding admittance to Karnival of Karnage has been a bit more difficult to obtain.

Either way, despite how strange 2020 has been, much credit goes to both haunted houses for putting together events that would make us feel as close to normal as possible.

Hopper's Haunted House is located 11576 N IL Route 2 in Rockford, and Karnival of Karnage is at the Boone County Fairgrounds in Belvidere.
