Today’s Free COVID-19 Testing: What To Know Before You Go
Do you have these symptoms?
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
The CDC lists those symptoms as symptoms of COVID-19. If you're in the Rockton area and have any of those or just curious, you can get tested for free today.
COVID-19 testing sites can be found through Rockford but, today only, there's another Winnebago County location. As shared earlier this morning, a pop-up COVID-19 testing location is in Rockton until 5 p.m. today. There are five things you need to know before you go, three of which you might not be aware of.
First of all, this is the nasal swab test. As far as the rules of arrival, this isn't just a drive-thru thing. It doesn't matter if you drive to the location, ride a bicycle, walk, or arrive via horse and buggy. Simply show up and you're good. And, to reiterate, this is 100% free. Insurance information is collected but is not required. You also aren't required to prove citizenship. There is also no requirement for a photo identification card. Basically, if you want to know if you have COVID-19 and you're in the Rockton area there is no reason to skip out on this free testing.
