Takata Corp, maker of airbags just announced a major defect with their product, resulting in one of the largest auto recalls to have ever been made in the U.S.

WGN News reported that over 34 million vehicles are effected by this recall. The problem isn't the airbag itself but with the chemical that inflates the air bag. It can explode with too much force, blowing apart a metal inflator and sending shrapnel into the passenger compartment.

This defect has been responsible for six deaths and has injured a 100 more.
