
Strong Storms Saturday, Brutal Heat on the Way for Illinois and Wisconsin
The Stateline is bracing for another round of storms over the weekend, some severe, especially on Saturday (7/19).

According to the latest forecast from The Weather Channel, the Rockford area has a 50 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms on Saturday, with some potential to be severe.
Some forecasts are showing the threat of severe wind and hail across northern Illinois, and parts of the Chicagoland area are in the threat zone for tornadoes on Saturday.
Localized flooding is a concern with this storm due to the heavy rain possible on Saturday, with highs expected to be in the mid-80s, according to the Weather Channel.
Sunday (7/20) and Monday (7/21), there's about a 15 percent chance of scattered storms; otherwise, mostly sunny with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s.
Heatwave Building by Midweek
After the weekend, the heat turns up, with some forecasts showing temperatures surging into the 90s by Wednesday (7/23), and heat indexes possibly topping 100 degrees.
According to the latest National Weather Service forecast for the Rockford region and Chicagoland, highs could be in the 90s on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Another round of Thunderstorms is in the extended forecast for Rockford, with a chance of showers and storms on Wednesday night, Thursday night, and next Friday (7/25).
