AMBER Alert Issued for Missing and Pregnant 16-Year-Old From Wisconsin

A pregnant 16-year-old named Sophia Franklin went missing in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin on February 2, 2025, and she is believed to be with the father of her unborn child who a no contact order has been issued against.

A Parent's Worst Nightmare

As the mother of two young daughters, posts like these give me nightmares...

What makes this story even worse is that Sophia Franklin and the suspect Gary Day met over six months ago online, and this is not first time she has gone missing to be with him.

According to an article from KARE 11 in Minneappolis;

Day allegedly first traveled from his home in Arkansas to pick up Franklin after she ran away on July 29, according to a recorded interview of Franklin that was taken between that first instance and the most recent Amber Alert that was issued for her.

In interviews after her first disappearance in July Sophia Franklin told authorities that she and Day "waited until they got to Arkansas to have sex because the act would be illegal in Wisconsin or Illinois", so obviously he is aware that she is a minor.

KARE 11's article also says that since Sophia's return to Wisconsin in July, things had been "going well" until her mother walked into her room and saw her in a Google chat with a person they believe was Gary Day.

According to the charges, multiple times in the chat, the person believed to be Day threatened to commit suicide.

Two days later, Franklin's father contacted law enforcement to report that his daughter was missing again.

Gary Day allegedly traveled to Beaver Dam from Arkansas to kidnap Sophia, and obviously, her family and friends are desperately worried about her and her unborn child's safety.
