Bed Bugs Found At 4 Wisconsin Kwik Trip Stores

I never thought I would see the day when I would have something bad to say about Kwik Trip... but here we are.

As an Illinois resident, one of my favorite things about going to Wisconsin, besides Spotted Cow beer and being at my family cabin, is stopping at Kwik Trip.

I mean, come on. Glazers, Dunkers, cheese curds, cheeseburgers, snacks... what's not to love?

(FYI, Kwik Trip just debuted a new Glazer flavor for fall: Maple.)

OK, now that I've sung all my Kwik Trip praises, let's get to the bad news.

Bed Bugs Found Inside Four Wisconsin Kwik Trips

Four Kwik Trip locations in the Wausau area have made headlines after bed bugs were discovered in their restrooms. Yes. BED BUGS. At Kwik Trip. (I feel like bugs are crawling all over me now, and I have never even been to a Kwik Trip in Wausau before.)

According to WSAW, the affected stores are located at:

225451 Rib Mountain Drive
1440 W. Campus Drive
2950 Stewart Ave.
1415 West St.

Kwik Trip says the bugs are believed to have been brought into the stores by a visitor, and pest-control professionals say the situation is not an infestation That's good news, but what about the Glazers? The Dunkers? The rest of the food?

According to WSAW's article: "Kwik Trip officials say the situation poses no health or food safety risk, and that all areas open to customers and employees remain safe."

Professional pest control treatment is expected to take about three to five days, but as someone who finds reasons to go to Kwik Trip in Wisconsin, I don't know if I will ever look at the restroom the same way again.
