We're seeing COVID-19 numbers spike in various places around the U.S and the suits and ties of Florida Keys aren't having it. In fact, they're smacking a big fine on folks spotted not wearing face masks.

The thing is, what classifies as not wearing a mask? I ask this because if you are wearing a face mask but your nose is uncovered you are not wearing a face mask. This isn't my opinion, this is a fact. Check out one of the CDC's instructions for correctly wearing a face mask.

Put it over your nose and mouth and secure it under your chin.

The Center For Disease Control and Prevention also included a graphic displaying how the mask should fit on your face.

If you're wondering who the CDC recommends not wearing a mask...

Who should NOT use cloth face coverings: children under age 2, or anyone who has trouble breathing, is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance.

So, with that said, Florida Keys official will be on the lookout for people not wearing masks in public. If someone is some spotted not wearing a mask they will be slapped with a massive fine of $500. WIFR.com explains this temporary law with a little more detail.

The ordinance permits restaurant and bar patrons to remove their masks while seated, eating or drinking and allows people in gyms to remove their facial coverings while exercising, provided there is at least 6 feet of distance from the next closest person, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

If Illinois sees a spike in COVID-19 cases does the Land of Lincoln follow suit? Or, does Cook County solely jump on this ordinance, too?
