We all strive to eat better and most often we think trading in that greasy burger for a salad is the best choice. Typically it is.

However, be warned, not all salads are created equal.

Here are salads that actually have more calories than a McDonald's Big Mac.

To put it in perspective, Big Mac's have "550 calories, 10g saturated fat, and 1000mg sodium."

So, when you decide to reach for that salad instead of that Big Mac for lunch, just don't order these or you may be ingesting more, fat, sodium and calories than you would have liked to.

BuzzFeed listed 19 Salads with more Calories and fat than a Big Mac which include:

T.G.I. Friday’s Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad = 1,080 calories, 1,650 mg sodium

IHOP Crispy Chicken Cobb Salad = 1,270 calories, 2,980 mg sodium

Applebee’s Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad =1,340 calories, 2,630 mg sodium

Applebee’s Oriental Chicken Salad = 1,390 calories, 1,610 mg sodium

Yikes, that old saying "buyer beware" holds true even when ordering something as simple as a salad too.
