If you've ever listened to the Q98.5 St. Jude Kids Radiothon, you've probably heard us mention the name Judy Cline. You might have even heard about Judy's story and relationship with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. In case you haven't, please allow me the honor to briefly tell you about Judy and what makes her so awesome.

I am the same age and went to school with Judy's son Matt. Matt and I had mutual friends and the same love for theater. Matt battled cancer for several years, and then before our senior year began, Matt lost his cancer fight.

I do not know all the specifics of Matt's cancer treatments, but I do know that even though he was not physically treated at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, protocol from St. Jude played a big part in Matt's cancer fight.

This is why Judy Cline has spent the last 20 years helping to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital during the Q98.5 radiothon. She has said many times that she does it in honor of Matt, and that she knows the cure for cancer will come from St. Jude.

The year before Judy Cline started volunteering for St. Jude, she sent this letter with some money to donate that she found in her son's wallet. This letter still hangs in Chicago St. Jude office to this day...

Judy Cline has spent 20 years answering phones, cheering us on, and inspiring others during the annual Q98.5 St. Jude Kids Radiothon. I have shed many tears with you, Judy, and I'm so very thankful to call you my friend.

Thank you, Judy for spending more hours in two days at this radio station than most of us normally do in a week. Thank you for being a part of our family for over 20 years, and thank you for sharing Matt's story with the World. I'm sure he's looking down just bursting with pride and love.
