
Two Rockford Teens and a Juvenile Arrested in Separate Gun Incidents
Rockford Police arrested several teenagers over the weekend following two separate incidents involving guns.
Traffic Stop Turns Into Chase and Gun Arrest
According to a Rockford Police press release, SCOPE officers were attempting to pull over a vehicle near 9th Street and 16th Avenue late on Friday night (10/17), when the driver sped off before stopping in a nearby dead end.

Both occupants of the vehicle ran from the scene, but were quickly apprehended a few blocks away.
One of the suspects was identified as 18-year-old Terry Prowell of Rockford. He allegedly had a loaded firearm on his pesron and has been charged with the following:
- 2 Counts of Aggravated Fleeing to Elude
- Resisting Arrest
- 2 Counts of Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon
- No Valid FOID
The other suspect was 18-year-old Lequinton Jones-Horton of Nashville, Tennessee who has been charged with Resisting Arrest, according to the report.
Juvenile Arrested After Loaded Gun Found on Sitka Lane
On Sunday (10/19), in an unrelated incident, Rockford Police officers responded to a motorbike complaint i the 2900 block of Sitka Lane.
Witnesses told police they saw a suspect discard an object while fleeing through a backyard on Idlewood Terrace.

According to the press release, a Rockford PD K-9 located a handgun, and a 17-year-old male suspect was detained following a short foot chase. The teen has been charged with:
- Possession of a Firearm
- 3 Counts of Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon
- 2 Counts of Resisting Arrest
Due to the Statewide Detention Screening Tool, the juvenile was released to a parent. Additional charges may follow as investigations continue, according to the Rockford Police Department.
