Death Investigation Underway in South Beloit After Body Found in Woods
Authorities in South Beloit are investigating a death after a body was found in a wooded area, with no immediate signs of foul play.
Body Discovered in Wooded Area Off Roadway
According to the Winnebago County Sheriff's press release, deputies were dispatched around 11:20 a.m. on Tuesday (4/14) to the 700 block of Dearborn Avenue in South Beloit, for a report of a body found just off the road in a wooded area.
Detectives with the sheriff's office have launched a death investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
At this stage, officials say there is no indication of suspicious activity connected to the case, though the investigation remains ongoing.
Autopsy Planned
The Winnebago County Coroner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the official cause of death.
Authorities have not released the identity of the individual pending further examination and notification of next of kin.
