Rockford Police Drive Down Fatalities with July Traffic Safety Campaign
To increase road safety throughout the city, the Rockford Police Department teamed up with state and local law enforcement agencies for an intensive traffic safety campaign throughout July.

Funded by federal traffic safety grants from the Illinois Department of Transportation, this campaign reminded motorists of the importance of adhering to speed limits.
Statistics From the Rockford Traffic Enforcement Campaign
Throughout July, Rockford Police issued a total of 82 speeding citations, alongside 5 seat belt violations and 6 citations related to child car seats. The enforcement effort also resulted in 14 citations for suspended or revoked licenses, 1 for distracted driving, and 83 other traffic-related citations.
These measures underscore the department’s commitment to ensuring safer roadways and protecting lives.
