The Major League Baseball season is just days away and in Rockford, we're celebrating with a few people that were in a "league of their own."

See what I did there?

Anyway, Charlene O'Brien and Sonja Brace, two of the Rockford Peaches bat girls from the 1950s will be on hand to sign autographs at Crimson Ridge.

Located at 735 North Perryville Road, Crimson Ridge will host O'Brien and Carlson on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

According to the press release, they "will be on hand to sign baseballs and caps sold by SPoRT Apparel or items provided by the public."

Apparently, SPoRT has created limited-edition Rockford Peaches items including baseballs, mugs, stickers, clings, and patches. Each one includes the International Women's Baseball Center logo, owner of SPoRT Apparel.

Did you know that if you have kids who are big fans of the Peaches they can actually play for them?

The Harlem Community Center hosts your typical kids baseball leagues starting at age 6 through 18 with a small wrinkle.

The resulting timeline shows that women are constantly making history worthy of best-selling biographies and classroom textbooks; someone just needs to write about them.
