Before you know it the kids will be on summer break and you'll be wondering, "what the heck am I going to do to keep them occupied for the next couple months?!?" Get that important question, along with countless others, answered this Saturday at the Rockford Park District's Youth Sports Open House.

My daughter is not even three yet, but I am already thinking of what activities there are for her to get involved in locally. The Rockford Park District offers so many great options for kids and families, it's hard to choose what to try first! That is why parents of children ages 3 to 18 are encouraged to come out to the Carlson Ice Arena on April 16 for a free Youth Sports Open House.

Here's all the details:

  • When: Saturday, April 16, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Where: Carlson Ice Arena at 4150 N Perryville Rd. in Loves Park
  • What: Meet with coaches and learn more about the Park District's sports programs for flag football, cheer, tennis, track & field, sports camps and more. Register your kids on the spot, plus sign up to win free giveaways and admission tickets for Park District facilities.

For more information on youth sports programs, visit the Rockford Park District website, or call 815-987-8800.
