29-Year-Old Rockford Man Killed in Shooting on Haskell Avenue
A shooting near downtown Rockford left one man dead on Wednesday evening (6/26) and there's currently no one in custody,
According to a press release from the Rockford Police Department, officers responded around 6:11 pm on Wednesday (6/26) to a home in the 1000 block of Haskell Avenue where reports of shots fired had been called in.
Man Found on Sidewalk With Fatal Gunshot Wounds
When officers arrived on the scene they discovered a male victim with gunshot wounds lying on the sidewalk and immediately transported him to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased just moments later.
The Winnebago County Coroner has revealed the name of the man who died in the shooting. He is 29-year-old Marquell Reddic of Rockford, Illinois.
An autopsy was performed today which revealed Mr. Reddic died from a gunshot wound. The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office and the Rockford Police Department continue to investigate Mr. Reddic’s death. -Winnebago County Coroner
