One of the most iconic competitions in the world is planning a three-year visit to Illinois that begins next year (2025).

Illinois Will Get IRONMAN Triathalon For 1st Time in History

It will be the first visit to the Land of Lincoln for the IRONMAN 70.3 Triathalon when it comes to Rockford, Illinois for the next three competitions in 2025, 2026, and 2027

The impact on the Rockford area and the entire Stateline community will be significant for the three years IRONMAN has its annual event.

Thousands of Athletes and Spectators Will Drive Millions Into Economy

Nearly 3,000 athletes will compete in Rockford for the IRONMAN 70.3, and they'll bring nearly 15,000 visitors to the region and will fill an estimated 7,000 to 15,000 hotel room nights, according to the press release.

The IRONMAN 70.3 Triathlon Series is the "world’s premier full--distance and half-distance triathlon series consisting of over 150 qualifying races in over 50 countries, regions and territories across the world."

Securing an event like the Ironman is a true testament to what Illinois has to offer and our tourism industry's continued success. -Rep. Kim DuBuclet (D-Chicago)

Around $45 million in economic impact will come to the Stateline area during the next three years of IRONMAN, according to a press release.
