You can only imagine how miserable it must be for graduating seniors in high school and college.

This is usually supposed to be the best time, meaning they are this close to grabbing their diploma and moving on.

However, with the pandemic changing every single thing we do differently, graduation has been altered too.

Some are having virtual graduations, others are using the drive-thru variety of diploma handoff.

There's a group of Rochelle High School students that have signed a petition on change.org to move the date altogether until a time when they can participate in a "real" graduation.

A drive-thru ceremony is currently scheduled for graduating seniors of Rochelle High School, but Jordan Dobberstein, who started the petition is hoping to change the date.

Dobberstein on change.org:

Us seniors want to have a normal graduation ceremony just like all other senior classes. Postpone our ceremony to a later and safer date. A later date as in August, September, October, or even over winter break. Please help to make this change! Us seniors appreciate it!

365 people have signed the petition thus far and the number expects to grow in the coming days.

Interestingly, there have been no other petitions from Winnebago, Boone, or Ogle County schools on change.org asking to change the date to later in 2020.
