I went to my family's cabin up North for the first time of the season this past weekend, and although we had a great time, it reminded me of my hatred for mosquitoes, sunburn, and wasps!

Since this was Ella's first trip to the cabin, I had to load up on baby sunscreen and natural bug spray. That is, until I saw the price of this natural "baby-safe" bug spray. Cheapest one was 10 bucks for some teeny tiny bottle. I do not consider myself a cheapskate, but that is ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, Ella's well being is my up most priority, but I know that I can make my own spray for way cheaper, so off to Pinterest I went. This recipe is much better for my wallet, since we spend A LOT of time outdoors.

Now that we tackled the bug spray problem, we still had to deal with the annoying buzzing and swatting required when outdoors. This should help with that, and I can't wait to try it out for myself. I hate bugs anywhere in my vicinity.

My biggest outdoor nemesis however are bees and wasps. They FREAK ME OUT! I will be making these in bulk to hang in the surrounding trees at the cabin and at home. I guess I have a lot of pop liters to drink.

Finally, no matter how much sunscreen I apply, I always receive a nice sunburn as a parting gift. This should help.

Hopefully these tips will make your summer more enjoyable and itch free!

By the way, Ella loved her first trip to the cabin, and has instructed me to make it an every weekend thing.
