One Of America’s Best Apple Orchards Is 30 Minutes From Rockford

No need to go too far to find some of the best apples in America.

All you need to do is head out to Poplar Grove according to The Daily Meal.

That's where Edwards Apple Orchard can be found and apparently it's one of America's Best Apple Orchards.

Since 1964, Edwards has been a yearly pilgrimage for people in Rockford and elsewhere.

Edwards Orchard:

A family-owned apple orchard in Poplar Grove, Illinois where guests can enjoy crisp apples, apple cider donuts, and freshly-pressed apple cider.

Edwards is one of five different Illinois orchards to make The Daily Meal's list.

• Goebbert's Pumpkin Patch & Apple Orchard in Pingree Grove

To stick to coronavirus safety guidelines, the orchard is planning drive-thru pick-ups with limited picking days available. Though the restaurants, orchard, and picnic area are closed for the 2020 season, you’ll still be able to delight in the delicious apples harvested from your favorite orchard.

Don't forget there are two Edwards Apple Orchard locations. The aforementioned and apparently original Edwards in Poplar Grove, but there's another in Winnebago.
