If you are looking for another fun getaway and want to save money, then head to the zoo in Coal Valley. 

KWQC-TV reported that the Niabi Zoo in the Quad Cities area will be free for anyone the remainder of the 2016 season. Starting on September 13th, the zoo will be open for free Tuesdays thru Fridays.

The zoo's director, Lee Jackson, has this to say about the free admission.

"Providing free entry to the zoo is a huge deal for us here at Niabi. “We want to make sure that everyone has access to our animals and the educational experiences they provide. The zoo plays a vital role in educating visitors about wild animals, and their related conservation issues.”

The zoo will be closing on October 30th. There is still an admission fee for Saturday and Sunday visits.

The hours the zoo will be open is 10 AM till 4 PM Tuesday thru Saturday and 11 AM till 4 PM on Sundays.
