According to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service, strong to severe storms could produce damaging winds, large hail, and torrential rainfall, particularly in the late afternoon and evening hours on Tuesday (6/17) and Wednesday (6/18).

The Rockford region has a chance of showers before 3 pm on Tuesday, but a higher chance of strong storms is likely after 4 pm, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
Highs on Tuesday are expected to be near 90, with thunderstorms again possible after 10 pm on Tuesday, according to the latest NWS predictions.
Chicagoland Braces for Disruptions from Severe Weather
According to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service, showers and thunderstorms are possible before 10 pm in Chicago, but the stronger storms are likely between 10 pm and 1 am.
Showers and thunderstorms are again in the forecast after 1 pm on Wednesday (6/18), with another 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 am Wednesday night / Thursday morning.

Rockford is likely to have thunderstorms on Wednesday morning, with rain continuing into the afternoon with scattered storms, and a high expected to be around 77.

Rain should clear out late on Wednesday night for the Rockford region, with mostly sunny skies expected on Thursday (6/19), and Friday (6/20), with highs in the upper 80s.
