Remember that epic feeling of walking into a Toys R Us as a kid?

Toys-R-US To Close Over 150 Stores Nationwide

I can still remember exactly how the Toys R Us store by the CherryVale Mall was laid out when I was little, and how dang excited I was to walk through the door with a pocket full of cash to spend.

The stores were overflowing with everything I loved most in life... from Barbies and babies to stuffed animals and games, I would spend hours walking the aisles trying to decide which toy to spend my money on.

As I got older and had kids of my own, taking them to Toys R Us was still one of my favorite things to do, and I still remember vividly the last time we walked out of the doors at the Forest Plaza location in 2018 and the tears streaming out of my 2-year-old daughter's eyes.

Toys R Us stores were a kid's very own slice of Heaven on Earth, and to say they have been missed is a bit of an understatement. Thankfully, Toys R Us is officially coming back to Illinois, (and no, I'm not talking about the small pop-ups located inside Macy's).

Toys R Us Stores Returning to Illinois

According to WGN in Chicago, Toys R Us is making a triumphant return to the Windy City with a brand new, standalone store that opens this Saturday, (October 26) at the Harlem Irving Plaza in Norridge, Illinois.

Now I know what you're probably thinking; "is this just a pop-up store that will be gone soon?", well, as far I can tell that answer is NO!

According to NBC Chicago;

the new store joins a Toys "R" Us at Mall of America, a store in New Jersey at American Dream megamall, and a store inside the Dallas Fort Worth Airport.

and...it looks like more stores may be opening in the next few years, we just don't know for sure where. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if more open in Illinois. (Fingers crossed!)
