New Mask PSA Uses Horror Movie Icon

With COVID-19 fears still coursing through the world we have seen countless PSAs about wearing masks to keep you and others safe. Most are pretty serious, focusing on the negative effects of not wearing a mask, but this video took a different rout.

This video definitely takes a very different approach than many other PSAs. Instead of throwing numbers and statistics at you, this ad shows legendary slasher Jason Voorhees from the Friday The 13th movie living his daily life with a hockey mask.

This video is mostly played for laughs trying a more light hearted way of asking rather than telling people to wear masks.

Ogilvyhealth posted the video to their Instagram saying,

Wearing a mask has proven to be an easy and important way to stem the spread of the #coronavirus, yet many New Yorkers still aren't doing it. This is especially true of younger people who may feel invincible to.

The video is the voice of Jason (even though he never speaks in the movies) following Voorhees  around a city. The clip ends by displaying the message: “Wearing a mask can be scary. Not wearing one can be deadly.”

Whether you agree with the message, or not the video its self is still pretty funny!
