When the weather is bad around northern Illinois like we've got today a great outlet for cabin fever is going out to the movies, and now there's a new theater open offering more than just popcorn and soda pop.

Unique theater experience in Wrigleyville

A new movie theater opened just last month offering a "premium cinema experience" in the popular Wrigleyville neighborhood in North Chicago.

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema opened the doors of its first Illinois location right across from Wrigley Field on the third floor at 3519 N. Clark St. and shows a variety of movies including new releases like Avatar: The Way of Water and Cocaine Bear.

Classic movies are also popular at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Wrigleyville where they recently had a screening of Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Grease.

Retro TV's and throwback decorations add to the great experience at Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas.

More than just popcorn at this movie theater

You won't have to worry about grabbing dinner BEFORE the movie when the best treats and eats are being offered at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema where the menu includes gourmet burgers, pizzas, and fresh-from-the-oven chocolate cookies.

Award-winning cuisine, high-end cocktails, and the finest draft beer are offered as part of the movie experience at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.

Chicago isn't the first location for Alamo Drafthouse Cinema

According to the official Alamo Drafthouse website, there are other cinemas in St. Louis, Denver, Los Angeles, Twin Cities, and coming soon to Boston, MA and Birmingham, AL.

LOOK: 50 famous memes and what they mean

With the infinite number of memes scattered across the internet, it's hard to keep track. Just when you've grasped the meaning of one hilarious meme, it has already become old news and replaced by something equally as enigmatic. Online forums like Tumblr, Twitter, 4chan, and Reddit are responsible for a majority of meme infections, and with the constant posting and sharing, finding the source of an original meme is easier said than done. Stacker hunted through internet resources, pop culture publications, and databases like Know Your Meme to find 50 different memes and what they mean. While the almost self-replicating nature of these vague symbols can get exhausting, memes in their essence can also bring people closer together—as long as they have internet access.
