Illinois Hello Kitty Fans Are About to Get Their Dream Café

If you were a girl who was obsessed with Hello Kitty, or know one that is, start planning a trip to the new Hello Kitty Cafe opening in Chicago soon.

Hello Kitty Is Coming to Chicago

As an Illinois mom with two daughters who both went through Hello Kitty phases, I can confidently say that this news would have made my girls lose their minds a few years ago, and probably still will: Chicago is getting its very own permanent Hello Kitty Café.

If you've lived in Illinois long enough, you may remember when there was a small Hello Kitty store inside Marshall Field's on State Street in Chicago, but this new café will offer way more than just cute kitty merchandise.

Similar Hello Kitty Cafes are already open in other cities, including in Las Vegas, Santa Clara in California and Vancouver in Canada. The Hello Kitty "Grand Café" in Irvine includes a menu of freshly baked cookies, cakes, donuts, seasonal goodies and handmade drinks

Specific details about Chicago's Hello Kitty Café haven't been released yet, but here are a few things we do know about the new attraction:

• The 8,000 square foot space will be located at the London House hotel at 360 N. Michigan Ave. (Coming soon signage is already up!)
• The Hello Kitty Café will be permanent... not just a pop-up.
• The café will also feature an outdoor space where visitors can enjoy their Hello Kitty-themed treats
