New Centennial Wheel Opening at Navy Pier on May 27

Navy Pier in Chicago turns 100 this year, and they're beginning their birthday celebration Memorial Day weekend with the opening of their brand new Centennial Wheel on Friday, May 27, 2016.

The new Ferris wheel isn't the only exciting thing in store for Navy Pier's historic centennial celebration, there's a new Polk Bros. Fountain, a revitalized South Dock and new restaurants celebrating the essence of Chicago.

Officials are expecting big crowds for the centennial celebration, so they will be selling advance tickets for the Centennial Wheel starting on Friday, May 20, 2016.

According to WGNtv.com, Navy Pier will also be featuring new promotions in honor of their centennial celebration including all-day ride passes, special discounts and free days.
