
This U.S. State Will Pay You $12,000 to Move Away from Illinois
If you're ready for a change of scenery and some extra cash in your bank account, there are several U.S. cities and one State that will pay big bucks to relocate.
Cities Across America Are Offering Cash to Relocate
Programs across America have been targeting remote workers, young professionals, and families who are willing to call a new place "home."

Tulsa, Oklahoma, offers newcomers $10,000 through its Tulsa Remote program, which provides community-building opportunities and connections to local culture for its remote workforce.
Topeka, Kansas, is attracting new residents through its Choose Topeka initiative that offers:
- Up to $10K in funds for renting in the first year, up to $15K in funds for home purchase
- GO Topeka/JEDO & Employer funds matching 50%. Employer funds $2.5K up to $15K with employee transfer
- After 1st year, GO Topeka/JEDO will reimburse 50% match of the total qualified relocation incentive to the employer for employee retention
If you're wanting to move, but not too far from Illinois, the town of Newton, Iowa, will give you $10,000 and a welcome package if you build a home valued at $240,000 or more by 2026.
If getting as far away from Illinois is your goal and you don't mind a more remote lifestyle, Ketchikan, Alaska, might be your destination. After a year of Alaska residency, you're eligible to receive up to $2,000 a year through the Permanent Fund Dividend.
This State's Offer Might Be the Most Generous
Ascend West Virginia is offering $12,000 to individuals who relocate to the Mountain State for at least two years.

You can choose to receive monthly payments or a lump sum if you buy a home, and the best part? You can spend the money however you like. And money does go further in the mountains.
