Things happen in life, and too often when they do, they leave helpless victims suffering behind.

Today's Pet of the Week spent the first year of her life happy and loved, and then her owner got sick and was forced to surrender Luna to Winnebago County Animal Services. It's a sad story, but I am really hoping you will provide the happily-ever-after ending to it today.

If you're looking for fun and easy-going, Luna is your gal!

If you're looking for cuddles and kisses, Luna is your gal!

If you're looking to fall in love at first sight, Luna is definitely your gal according to Amber Pinnon, Volunteer and Adoption Program Coordinator at Winnebago County Animal Services.

Here's what Amber had to say about Luna;

Stare deep into my beautiful eyes and you just might fall in love! My name is Luna! I’m about 1 year and a half old and have my whole life ahead of me!  I was unfortunately surrendered to the humane society because my previous owner was having some health issues. Now I'm on the search for my new forever home. I have done wonderfully with everyone I meet! I enjoy spending time outside and would love a faithful sidekick to explore the great outdoors with. Have I sparked your interest yet?

There are more than 15 awesome dogs, just like Luna, that are currently waiting to find their forever homes at Winnebago County Animal Services. If you've never adopted a pet from an animal shelter before, let me tell you, there is no feeling like it! Both of my beloved dogs are rescues, and knowing that I saved them from a life of loneliness locked in a cage makes my heart so full. Don't get me wrong, Winnebago County Animal Services takes great care of the animals they take in, but you know what they say, "there's no place like home!".

Please fill out an adoption application for Luna in advance here, and make sure you give her a big ol' squeeze from me when you get to take her home!
